Al-Kuhl is the Arabic word from which alcohol is derived. In Arabic translation Al-Kuhl means; Body-Eating Spirit. The strongest alcoholic beverage is called Spirit for a reason.

I found drinking alcohol was one of the fastest ways to lower my vibration, the dehydration, confusion and lack of awareness was no longer appealing.

I admit, I was addicted to drinking alcohol. I drank bottles of vodka, Sambuca and many cocktails at the weekend for years, between the age of 13 - 20 years old.

I believe alcohol is the most dangerous 'legal' drug of them all.

Once I started to investigate the affects of alcohol on my body, I began to make changes.

Alcohol causes the following;

  • Impaired motor skills

  • Impaired senses

  • Memory loss

  • Mood swings

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • High blood pressure (increasing risk or heart attack or stroke)

  • Stomach ulcers or stomach cancer

  • Hepatitis or liver cancer

  • Haemorrhage

  • Inflammation

  • Painful periods

Overall, there is a reason drinking too much alcohol causes the body to vomit, this is because alcohol is poison.

When I look back to my younger self, I understand why she drank. It's a form of escaping reality. Being part of the 'norm' in society and socialising with friends.

I was always praised for drinking, and it seemed funny at the time. It meant I could party my worries away at the weekend, with no thought or care of my health.

I knew alcohol was bad for me, I just didn't research or know how bad.

2014 is when I started my health journey, I made an appointment to check how my liver and organs were after all the binge drinking I had done over the years. The doctor clarified that my Liver had many scars, but would heal over time if I took a break from alcohol.

2016 was the last time I drank alcohol during a family meal in Crow wood.

Scott & I was obsessed with cocktails, trying all the flavours was so exciting.

When we started to eat healthier, we decided to quit alcohol for good in 2016.

It was the deeper understanding of the mind, body and spirit connection I was seeking.

The information of how alcohol affects the body, reassured me quitting was the right thing to do. I also didn't enjoy feeling of being dehydrated afterwards for days, as well as the fact we were poisoning our body and all our organs.

I am proud and happy to say, I DO NOT miss alcohol one bit!

I can feel real connection with my intuition and spirit, it is the strongest it's ever been.

Increased energy, hydrated and overall more focused and clear of mind.

My days now, consist of natural juicing organic fruits, learning to mix them into Mocktails!
