Hammock on the go...

Finding home wherever the trees are...

Have you ever been in the woods, chilling on a hammock?

For me, it’s one of the safest, calmest places I know.

I love travelling with my hammock, especially in the summer. It’s like carrying a little piece of home with me wherever I go. Whether I’m deep in the woods, near a river, or somewhere completely new, all I need are a couple of trees and a quiet moment.

This same hammock has been with me while travelling around Spain, strung up in forests and hidden corners, offering rest after long days of wandering. It’s amazing how something so simple can create such a deep sense of familiarity, even far from home.

Back here, nestled between the trees, I find the same peace.

Sometimes I read, sometimes I just lie there watching and listening, birds calling, squirrels darting about, leaves dancing in the wind.

I always ask the trees for permission first. Some are strong and happy to hold you, others might be tired or fragile. I listen, I choose carefully, and when it feels right, I trust them. Some of them really do seem to enjoy it. Hehehe.

I love the gentle sway, the cool breeze against my skin, and the warmth of the sun on my face. Being supported by the trees reminds me that rest doesn’t have to be earned, it can simply be received.

This is my safe place.

A space where I feel grounded, protected, and free to simply exist.

Sometimes healing looks like movement. Sometimes it looks like stillness.

Sometimes it looks like lying in a hammock, held by the earth, and allowing yourself to rest.

This is a reminder that home isn’t a location, but a feeling you carry with you... 🌿
